Luke 10:27 reminds us that “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all you soul, and with all your strength, and with all you mind; and your neighbor as yourself.” (NRSV)

The people of St. John Lutheran Church recognize that Christ must be first in all that we do and that worship is about God.  Giving glory to God must be its focus.  God is the audience for our worship, which, when focused on God and not on us, will be truly inspiring.  We will:

1. • Honor the stranger among us.
   

1. •Communicate in ways that are intergenerational and relevant; where all feed deeply on the Word to keep their minds sharp and hearts soft.
   

1. •Actively engage all through a variety of worship elements and with opportunities for lay involvement.
   

1. •Provide opportunity for all to experience the living God through proclamation of God’s Word, ministry of the sacraments, and shared stories of God’s grace.
   

1. •Be inspired such that all are moved toward a “lifestyle” of worship and prayer.
   

1. •Be sent out, all present filled with the Holy Spirit, as ambassadors of Christ.
