Hearts, Hands and Voices

August 12 - 15, 9:00 am- 3:00 pm

St. John is hosting a wonderful music and fine arts program for children this August. Launched in 2009 by internationally recognized artist Dr. Michael Burkhardt, the program was looking for a new home for its 2019 summer camp experience and we saw a wonderful opportunity to meet the needs of our community. Look for our halls to welcome 100 campers and faculty for an exciting four days of music and worship.

Slated for August 12 through August 15, the camp experience is offered in two distinct modules:

  1. Young people entering Grades 2-7 in Fall 2019, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. A fun immersion process with hands-on experiences in worship, choir, handbells & chimes, African drumming, Orff Ensemble and liturgical art. Learning is geared to providing lifelong tools for creating, appreciating and sharing music, participating in worship and leading productive lives in society.

  2. Camp Alumni Grades 8 and above, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Alumni return to camp as shepherds and assistants during the day followed by a learning experience from 3 to 4 p.m. designed specifically for them.
