CARING FOR ONE ANOTHER
The Eucharistic Ministers bring communion to our homebound members and those in the hospital each month. Normally we bring communion on the first Sunday of each month but this can be adjusted to fit schedules. Our list of homebound members has grown and we would welcome more Eucharistic Ministers. Training is provided and it is a very rewarding experience. If you would like to serve in this way please contact Bill Davis.
Prayer Shawl Ministry
All knitters/crocheters and “wannabes” (teachers available) are invited to participate in St John’s Prayer Shawl Ministry. We meet on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays each month from 1:00pm to 3:00pm in the library. We knit, crochet, pray and fellowship and have coffee and dessert. Our purpose is to make shawls for God’s children in need of prayers and a hug from God. They are an expression of Jesus’ command to:
“Love one another as I have loved you” - - John 13:34
As recipients receive and wear the shawls in prayer, it is hoped that they will be filled with the blessings of peace, comfort, and healing that only God can provide. The Prayer Shawls, which are blessed, are given as a GIFT TO ALL, members or non-members of St John.
If you know of someone in need of special care and prayers please contact the church office for them to receive a Prayer Shawl and an enclosure card.
